Intermediate Programme


 
The intermediate programme is for students who have completed the Foundation Course and wish to progress deeper into the practice. While progress in the practice can be a somewhat ‘non-linear’ process, the intermediate programme attempts to offer a structured progression through the various elements of the practice.
 

Stage I

The first intermediate stage is to consolidate the Foundation Course, including refinement of the 37 Form (1st Section), development of ‘nei gong’ through standing practice (Zhan Zhuang / Ding Shi) and exploration of the foundation partnerwork syllabus:

  • 37 Form – 1st Section – Consolidation & Refinement – Form Practice Methods
  • Tai Chi & Qigong Foundations – Revision & Refinement – Integration Into 37 Form
  • Nei Gong I – Posture Practice – Zhan Zhuang – Ding Shi
  • Foundation Partnerwork Syllabus 

Stage II

The second stage includes learning the 37 Form 2nd Section, further development of nei gong practice via Huang Sheng Shyan’s 5 Loosening Exercises and developing Pushing Hands pattern practice:

  • 37 Form – Form Refinement & 2nd Section – Form Practice Methods
  • Tai Chi & Qigong Foundations – Revision & Refinement – Integration Into 37 Form
  • Nei Gong II – Zhan Zhuang, Ding Shi & Huang Sheng Shyan’s 5 Loosening Exercises
  • Foundation Partnerwork (inc. 5 Loosening Exercises) & Pushing Hands (Single Push Hands and Peng Lu Ji An)

Stage III

The third stage includes learning the 37 Form 3rd Section, further development of nei gong practice via Liu Xiheng’s Tai Chi Exercises and intermediate Pushing Hands practices:

  • 37 Form – Form Refinement & 3rd Section – Form Practice Methods
  • Tai Chi & Qigong Foundations – Revision & Refinement – Integration Into 37 Form
  • Nei Gong III – Zhan Zhuang, Ding Shi & Liu Xiheng’s Tai Chi Exercises
  • Foundation Partnerwork Refinement & Intermediate Pushing Hands (Developing ‘Smart Hands’ & 8 Energies) 

Stage IV

The fourth stage includes learning the 37 Form 4th Section (complete form), further nei gong development via Shibashi Tai Chi Qigong, and further development of Pushing Hands

  • 37 Form – Form Refinement & 4th Section – Form Practice Methods
  • Tai Chi & Qigong Foundations – Revision & Refinement – Integration Into 37 Form
  • Nei Gong IV – Zhan Zhuang & Shibashi Qigong Set & Variations
  • Foundation Partnerwork Refinement, Pushing Hands, Smart Hands & Semi-Freestyle Pushing Hands

The programme runs over a series of 12 week terms. The class schedule is as follows:

  • Wednesday Evening Classes – 7:30pm to 9pm (Partickhill)
  • Thursday Evening Online Class – 6:30pm to 8pm
  • Weekend Workshops – Qigong, 37 Form, Partnerwork & Pushing Hands, Bagua Basics, Yoga & Meditation
  • Day Retreats / Training Days – Full days of practice based around each practice theme.
  • Intermediate Course Videos & Notes

Cost – £70 Monthly All-Inclusive  / £200 for 12-Week Block
